Chabad @ York University is an official student group that was established in the Fall of 2006. Directed by Vidal and Chanah Leah Bekerman, both York alumni, and run by a student executive committee, the group serves York's community of 4500 Jewish students, as well as catering to the Jewish presence at Osgoode Hall Law School, The Schulich School of Business, and Seneca @ York.
We strive to build and strengthen the Jewish community on campus by promoting Jewish pride, study and celebration for all Jews, regardless of background or affiliation. Founded on strong relationships and personal contact, Chabad educates and empowers students to engage Judaism in a meaningful way and to live Judaism joyfully.
